A coaching session for an experienced, licensed older driver who wants an honest read on current habits, not a licence reassessment.
Booked directly or through a family member, this session is for a licensed older driver who wants to check current habits against how road rules and intersections have changed, particularly around roundabouts and give-way rules. It is a coaching session, not a licence reassessment, and nothing is reported to Queensland's Department of Transport and Main Roads or anyone else.
What is included
- A drive on familiar local roads, at the driver's normal pace
- An update on any give-way or roundabout rules that have changed
- Plain, specific feedback rather than a pass or fail
- No reporting to any authority, at any point
- A written note home for family if the driver wants one

02How it runs
Step by step, in this order
Every lesson: 60 min. You always know which part you're on.
- 01 Start on roads the driver already knows well
- 02 Note anything that has changed since their licence test
- 03 Work through updated roundabout and give-way rules together
- 04 Give plain, specific feedback at the end
- 05 Offer a written note for family only if asked for
Is this a test I could fail?
No. It is a coaching session with no pass or fail and no report to any authority.
My mother is reluctant. How do you handle that?
Gently, and on her terms. Most reluctance eases once it is clear the session is not a reassessment and nothing goes anywhere without her agreement.
Can a family member sit in for the session?
Yes, in the back seat, if the driver is comfortable with that.
