Hours, bonus hours and what the test-day package covers.
How many logbook hours do I actually need?
Queensland's requirement is 100 supervised hours, including 10 at night, before a learner under 25 can sit the practical test. Every hour with an accredited instructor like ours can count as up to 3 logbook hours, for the first 10 lessons, which is the fastest legitimate way to bring the total down.
What does the test-day package include?
The dual-control car for the full test appointment, a pre-test warm-up lesson on the actual test route, and a same-day pick-up from the test centre car park.
Do lessons count toward my logbook automatically?
We sign and date the logbook at the end of every lesson before you get out of the car, so there is nothing to chase up later.
Do you guarantee I will pass the test?
No, and we would not trust an instructor who did. What we guarantee is that we will tell you honestly when you are ready, and that every hour in the car with us goes toward getting you there.
Nervous, returning and older drivers
No test, no assessment, no report to anyone.
I am an adult learner and nervous about it. Is that unusual?
No, it is most of a weekday. The refresher and standard lessons both start at the learner's pace, and a nervous adult learner is treated exactly the same as a sixteen year old, just without a parent in the back seat.
My parent wants me to have an older-driver refresher, not a test. Can you do that?
Yes. It is a coaching lesson, not an assessment, and nothing is reported anywhere. Most older-driver refreshers are about updated roundabout rules and mirror habits rather than anything more serious.
Booking and lessons
The car, the instructor, pick-up, payment and cancellations.
Do you provide the car, or do I need my own?
We provide a dual-control car, in auto or manual, for every lesson. You only need your own car if you are booking test-day car hire and prefer to sit the test in a car you already know, which most learners do not.
Can I request the same instructor every time?
Yes, and for a booked lesson pack we keep you with the same instructor, roster permitting. Continuity is most of why the packs work better than one-off lessons.
Do you teach manual as well as automatic?
Yes. Cody runs most of the manual lessons and the clutch control sessions specifically, and our cars are set up in both transmissions so a learner can train in whichever one they intend to drive.
Can you pick me up from home or school?
Yes, across Springwood and the suburbs we cover. Tell us the pick-up address when you book and we will confirm the timing.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Give us 24 hours notice and there is no charge. Inside 24 hours we ask for the lesson fee, because that slot usually cannot be filled again on short notice.
What suburbs do you cover for pick-up?
Springwood and the Logan suburbs around it, out to about twenty kilometres. If you are just outside that, ask when you book and we will tell you straight.
How old do I need to be to start lessons?
Queensland's minimum learner licence age is 16. We take bookings from the week a learner permit comes through.
What payment do you take?
Card on the day, bank transfer, or payment in advance for a lesson pack.
